Armada/Elizabethan Dishes

Sterling Silver Armada Dish

Why an Armada dish? (also known as Elizabethan dishes) – the romantic story is that silver bowls like these were found in the officer’s quarters of ships sunk during the Spanish Armada wars of 1588 and Sir Francis Drake, during the reign of Elizabeth l.  Whether true or not these beautiful bowls with a slightly raised centre are extremely popular and make excellent presentation pieces for sporting events, special awards, retirements etc.  Usually made in 925 sterling silver or silverplate these Armada dishes are made in exclusive 958 Britannia Silver and carry both our Coronation crest in the centre & the collector’s Coronation Hallmark.  They are very versatile and can be engraved (optional) in many ways – round the rim, or the reverse.  (Engraved Coronation Crest & presentation box is included in the price)

Although the Armada Dish in this collection is 5″ (127mm) diameter – we can make various size from 3″ to 10 inches (75 – 254mm) diameter,  in silverplate, 925 sterling silver and in 958 Britannia silver so if you would prefer an alternate size or material these can be made to special order.
